“Accidental Army: The Amazing True Story of the Czechoslovak Legion”
Amidst the chaos of World
War I, a Czech Professor led a fight for freedom that stretched across three continents. Hear the story of movie production from the creators,
enjoy food and drink, and view the original 2009 documentary in the wonderful confines of the National World War I Museum
at the Liberty Memorial. This showing of Accidental Army is sponsored by

The Gala Award Dinner marks the 20th anniversary
of the historic Velvet Revolution,
which delivered the Czech people from 40 years of communism. It is a celebration of Czech democracy, freedom, and progress,
as well as the partnership between U.S. President Woodrow Wilson and founding
Czechoslovak President Tomas G. Masaryk to create the Czechoslovak Republic. Event proceeds support reconstructing the
Woodrow Wilson Monument in Prague, which was destroyed by the Nazis in 1941.
